A SIP OF “THE TEA”

(A taste of Dionne’s wisdom on doing the “inner” work.)

EPISODE SUMMARY:

Dionne makes a point to emphasize the difference between “living with joy” and “living in joy”.  Living with joy, sounds subject to what’s happening around you. One moment you can be joyful, and the next, you may be in pain or misery. However, living in joy, denotes that our joy is a choice. We get to choose to be joyful.

In the face of the loss of a loved one, we can choose to be joyful. When confronting rejection or failure, we can choose to be joyful. In the midst of uncertainty and chaos, we can choose to stand in our joy. Joy isn’t just something that happens to us. It’s something we choose.

Eleven years ago, Dionne suffered a great loss, and with it, her sense of self deteriorated.  However, after looking at herself in the mirror, and not recognizing herself – Dionne decided it was time for a change. While much had happened in her life, she was determined to not allow her circumstances to continue to rule her life.

Dionne resigned from her secure, cushy, corporate job, became a yoga teacher, and began to carve out a new path for herself. Today, she’s added a few more titles to her name such as: best-selling author, Life Transformation Coach, Speaker, Performer, and a mental health advocate.

Today, Dionne is a woman living her best life.  She does what she loves, and encourages others to find their passion and shine their own light. We believe Dionne is a prime example of what it means to be “thriving” after “surviving” life. We hope that her story not only inspires you to do the same, but to also always Choose Joy.

Nia (& Deb)
